The Zupas Story

Zupas began in 2012 with a simple belief: fresh food made with real ingredients should be accessible to everyone. What started as a small neighborhood spot in Minneapolis has grown into a beloved destination for food lovers across the United States.

Our founder, inspired by family recipes and a deep love for wholesome cooking, set out to create a cafe zupas experience unlike any other — a place where every dish tells a story and every bite feels like home. From hearty soups and vibrant salads to handcrafted sandwiches and indulgent desserts, the menu reflects a commitment to quality that has never wavered.

Today, Zupas serves thousands of guests every week, sourcing seasonal produce from local farms and crafting sauces and broths from scratch each morning. Our kitchen never sleeps — and neither does our passion for great food.

2012

The First Bowl

Zupas opens its doors on SE Oak Street in Minneapolis with a small menu of homemade soups and fresh salads. Lines form within the first week.

2014

Expanding the Menu

We introduce handcrafted sandwiches, house-made dressings, and seasonal specials — cementing our identity as a full cafe zupas experience beloved by locals.

2017

Community Recognition

Zupas is named Best Casual Dining in Minneapolis by local food critics. We celebrate by launching a community lunch program for neighborhood families.

2020

Digital Ordering & Delivery

We launch online ordering and local delivery, bringing fresh zupas meals to doorsteps across the city. Our kitchen adapts to serve guests safely and efficiently.

2023

Catering & Events

We launch our full catering service, bringing the Zupas experience to weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations across the United States.
